After
the birth of the first baby (and the ones after), parents frequently
face the challenge of keeping their marriage a loving, thriving one.
Along with the gargantuan tasks of parenting (especially if you don’t
have nannies and regular babysitters), the two of you must be able to
balance your time for yourselves, for your careers, for your social
lives, and most importantly, for each other.
Problems
with Parenting
Since
raising kids can take so much time and effort, the married couple may
often feel tired and forget to take care of themselves and each
other. In place of going on dates, having sex, and bonding over
hobbies, the couple may prefer staying at home, resting peacefully by
themselves, or sleeping.
Conflicts
also arise when they don’t see eye to eye on their unique parenting
styles. For instance, one may be a disciplinarian while the other
insists on spoiling the kids. Other times, a spouse may feel that the
other is not pulling enough weight in taking care of their child.
Forging
Strength against Strife
Marriage
counseling can help in resolving intimacy issues, relationship
problems, and even parenting struggles. With parenting workshops or
private couple’s therapies, you and your partner can discuss your
problems openly, find resolutions that both of you feel comfortable
with, and look for ways you can keep the health and happiness of your
relationship with each other.
